Last time I looked with 6k You are in the really well looked after bug sti, blob sti. Roapy hawk sti something special classic price bracket :-)
Realy your in hawk Wrx bracket but id go STI everytime so bug blob or save more and go hawk.

Hunt through Pistonheads and our own for sale section.
Ideally you want a blob STI, less than 80K on the clocks and with lots of service history. Belts should of been done at 50 and id like to see servicing carried out every 'circa' 8K to be honest.
Obviously look at overall condition, usually gives a good indication to how the car has been treated.
Any unusual noises are a no no from the engine but don't be surprised if the rear shocks knock and crash a bit, quite common.
There are literally loads of cars out there, don't be scared of cars priced above your budget either. People want out of these at the minute so a decent cash offer can buy you alot.
DO NOT RUSH, take your time and look at a few cars. Get a feel for them because rushing in and buying because "I want one" will end in tears. There are plenty of good cars out there, you just gotta find them buddy.
Also, if you find an advert you like, stick it up on here. We can run our eyes over it if you like.
