Question

What steps would I need to follow to do a DIY colour code of the side skirts and rear bumper corner pieces?

How many coats of primer, paint and clear laquer etc is needed?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

i am interested in this too. Where can you get the paint from? mine is a MY00 DBM.

I had a guy from the Plastic Surgeon Spray my bumper and he just looked up a code and mixed it up from what he had in his van.

Where can i get some paint to match?

I wouldn't recommend trying to do this yourself unless you know what you're doing, we were going to and were advised against it by a friend in the know.

Apparantly, you need to prepare the plastic with some special stuff, or else you will find that the paint will come off and certainly chip off at a later stage.

I'd take this one to a pro. and it's not very often we would chose to pay instead of doing it ourselves!

Would have to agree. Mine was colour coded when I got it, but I think it will have to be done again after a drive down a very stoney road or two...

Obvious now it wasn't preped properly

It's called Plastikote. You need lot's of coats to smooth out the mottled effect on the sills.
