Default iPod cassette adaptor in std Bugeye head unit?

My cassette player works fine, but when I put the iPod cassette adaptor in the unit just spits it out!
Is this common? Is there a way to change settings to get it to work?

silly question but do you have it on tape when you are loading it in as ours did that but when we put it onto tape it took it in, dunno if that helps you at all?

Mine does the same thing, I just keep trying and it eventually stays in, I just leave it in now.

Mine does that as well, tried two different brands of cassette adaptor too. Just burn stuff onto CD now. The standard audio stuff in my Hawkeye is dreadful, never got round to changing it about though!

I had the same problem in the blobeye no matter what i tried i never worked. Ended up sticking a TV/DVD unit in instead with ipod connection and an SD card slot. Fitted some decent speakers as well as, lets face it, the standard kit is complete crap!
