Default WRX STi Spec D

Hi all, I'm a newbie to this site so just wanted to say hello.
Last week I purchased an 07/07 WRX STI Spec D.

22700 miles on it now, perhaps the lowest mileage on a Spec D in the country? Nah probably not, but it's nice to wish!
FSSH. Cambelt done in March this year and serviced too.

Very happy with it so far, needs new tyres (standard 17" silver alloys), and I am selling a set of 18" Rota WRC 1 replica's if anyone is interested?

I'm on Bridgestone Potenza RE040's at the moment, approx 3mm on 3 tyres and about 6mm on one (O/S/R)

3 x Fullrun 225 / 40 / R18 (new tyres) and a partly worn (nearly new) Goodyear Eagle F1. Unmarked wheels and suit the car, but Chinese tyres are not for me, and not standard of course.

Car is fantasitic, no PPP sadly, but hey, she's standard.

When I put the clutch down at higher engine revs, it pulls slightly to the right. Different to tramlining, so I hope it's just tyres and four wheel alignment that is required.

Any comments, hello's and advice would be great.

Matt

Congrats on the purchase!

Funnily enough, I reckon I have the highest mileage Spec D in the country with 122k!

It's great. Only had it 6 months now but hasn't missed a beat. Intact, I am now feeling confident enough to give it some mild tuning

Welcome fellow Spec D owner.
You'll find a fair few Spec D's (especially with PPP) have had HG failure. Mine has Cosworth gaskets and ARP studs after a recent failure so may be worth getting this work done if you plan a re-map?

Mine came with PPP and I have a JGM remap (358bhp and 380lb/ft). Popular concensus suggests that you shouldn't run more than 1.35bar boost unless you want to spend more money

Great cars - very stealthy!

Why?
Servicing is age as well as mileage related. The cambelt swap would be due now.
False alarm.

Phew! Had me a bit worried then, but yes it was done as an age related change....5 years.

Everything seems to stack up with the mileage, and the HPi I did at work (Volkswagen) was clear.

My only issue is this slight twitching to the right as I put the clutch down - usually at higher revs, say 6500 to 7000 rpm.

I'm hoping it's just the tyres / tracking and not a differential problem - any ideas or suggestions?

I hoping that it's just simple tracking and wheel alignment as this I guess can be magnified on a powerful 4x4 perhaps.

4 x Bridgestone Potenza RE040's. 3 are around 3mm tread and the O/S/R is on about 6 or 7mm.

I thought this may cause the issue, but having said that, I drove it down on the 18" Rota GR A's that I'm selling (hint hint!) and they were all brand new tyres, so it can't be the treads on my Bridgestones, as it wouldn't have been pulling to the right / left when dipping the clutch on the good tyres.

Steel Grey Rota 18" GR A's for sale, 3 x new Fullrun tyres (driven 500 miles from Scotland) and 1 x Goodyear Eagle F1 (only really partly worn) Unmarked alloys, no kerbing, flatspots, and locking wheel nuts with bolts too supplied.

PM me if interested, as I can't post on the wanted or for sale sections.
