AIR CON really,

i don't use it really but as it's getting hot i've decided to use it. Trouble is it's only cold slightly where i believe my relatives car froze my AR*E off! Is this normal? I've put it on max but it's not that cold.

You have to get them re-pressurised every so often and run them at least once every couple of weeks to keep the liquid inside them running round the system etc....might just need topping up maybe ?

Hi

The aircon in my Scooby works as well as any other car I've been in - when switched on and blowers on full its absolutely freezing!

I don't know that much about aircon really but have heard that all aircon units may need to be "re-gassed" if they stop being so efficient.

Hope this helps a bit at least

Rich

You need an a/c specialist to do it. My local does it for £49.

You can take it to any Air Con specialist, there are loads about or book it in at your local dealer, it should take 30 mins max to do, once done it'll be like sitting in a fridge again

When you get it recharged, make sure they die inject the system so leaks can be checked for easly.

If your Air Con needs recharging there is not enough gas in there to cool the air, going for a long drive won't help.....

Look in Yellow Pages / Thompsons etc, won't be expensive to get recharged.

Anothing thing mate, the compressors get very upset (aircon in general) if you don't use them, once you are recharged. Turn the system on full chat for 10min's a week (cold) and then run it at a nice hot temprature to get rid of any water left in the system or else you'll end up with mould which really is not healthy.

If you dont use it then the compressor will eventually blow, and that will cost you in excess of a grand, which hurts !!
