Thumbs up

People,
I think a big round of applause and a even bigger cigar should be directed to Chins for a well organised day down at PE. I enjoyed myself and it was nice to see time was made for the non scooby drivers who were down there.
On a personal note, many thanks to the unnamed heros for piling into the boot of the cossie to stop her spinning up on the rollers.
You're braver than me, that's for sure.
astraboy.

That explains the "loads of Subarus!" my neighbour saw on the M25

Yep it was a top day and I was amazed and chuffed that my car made 317 BHP with only an exhaust and air filter.

It was good to see other cars, just subarus would get boring after a while.

Anymore days like that would be cool.

Cheers Paul

p.s Keep the 3dr Cossie !!!!!! It rocks!!!!

Exclamation

Jonathan,

Thanks again for a good day out!

Not a bad day personally, 280bhp/252lbft from a UK car!

I think it was the best non-turbo change UK car!!

Good to see you all you guys there.
What's happening with the figures, is anyone collecting them all together to pass on to Paul Strong?

Andy

Sorry I had to leave a bit early. Did I win the prize for the least powerfull 4wd car of the day ?.

How come these UK Subaru's keep destroying the numbers, when all the Audi's I put on there are within 2.5% of factory numbers. Yet again my latest S3 only achieved what is says on the packet. Didnt see how the 328 got on though.

Interesting to see a MY01 on the rollers, and also Pete Croney's MY01. The difference between the cars torque wise was amazing.
The MY01 got 230bhp (this car already had a Prodrive backbox - explaining some of its increase in power) and Pete Croney 239bhp but you need to see Pete's Torque graph. At one point he had 40lbft more with his mods.

I enjoyed seeing the contest between Mr Tang and Mr Fisher. There needs to be some prizes next time for the most powerfull UK car and Import. Imagine they were both happy to have loads more power than the Unichip STI - although on torque they were off the mark.

BRD's Impreza was superb, not sure if anyone had a more powerfull car in the afternoon ?
343bhp - didnt see the torque. The look on most people's faces when they saw Bob's numbers were a picture.

A few converted car seemed to be having det problems on the rollers, and some other cars were running high boost - including the yellow peril.

Paul Strong will be getting all the data when he gets back from Hols and will post on the dyno site. Just to make sure all the Subaru owners are not getting cocky, I'll make sure there's a comparison against an S4 and RS4, to show you real power and torque.

Astraboy- you really should of had a sticker on your car to let people know your real identity

Cheers

Jonathan

Jon, thanks for sorting the day out!

Contest, what contest! Andy, where's my beer!

Andy, maybe if/when I start to run HIGH boost, I would really woop ur ar$e!

It was good the see the lite weights getting in to help the cossie.

It goes to show what any exhaust can do for a system (and torque curve!)

Bob, TURN THAT POWER DOWN! you're upsetting everyone with all that power!

Jon, are you saying that Scoobs don't get sound figures on the PE rollers, yet a standard car can!

All in all, it was a good day, a good turn out, and a good selection of cars.

Danny

I personally find the rollers accurate. I think that the Scoobies power output on Euro/UK versions is stated low. The STI's is about right on power, but optimistic on torque. Every other car I try on PE's rollers gets factory figures. Its only the UK/Euro Scooby that seems higher. I'm very happy with the accuracy of their rollers. However there will always be the odd one on the rollers.

Started out a good morning.
Car achieved figures just behind Andy not bad for a U.K car.
274bhp and 250lbft torque, but confirmed what I thought that the car was detting ever so very slightly.
Thanks to Bob for detecting that it may be the MAF sensor, after which it duly conked out altogether and I went home in limp mode.
Topcat (Mo,s) car was a hoot and considering it was still working on a superchip pulled like a train.
Thanks to Richard for the ride in the Skyline very impresive.
Anyway car has now been taken to main dealer on back of a flat bed ,am now using a car with less horsepower than a lawnmower (brothers new 318iC auto whilst he is in China).
I think it's time to start saving for a Link after seeing the figures it helped some of the cars achieve.

Cheers

Grant

Yeah nice job all.
Enjoyed the day, well organised and turned out much better than I expected (I thought it may be a bit boring, I was wrong)

BMW 328i got about 206BHP I think, about 10 over.
I was pleased with

Cem, if you mail David Power, he should be able to mail you the file on their system, so that you could create a proper image!

Excellent day. Thanks to Chins for organising that.Andy top car, thanks for the ride!Chins did you have to mention that Andy and Danny Whoooped my 8rse in BHP terms, though my car did churn out 302 lbs/ft of torque which I think was one of the highest of the day!!Just a bit or remapping needed to get the BHP/torque balance right.I will be back !! Whens the next session then??
ps thanks to Dave Power's wife for the coffee and bacon butties.

I was very pleased with my RB5 figures 258 bhp and 235 of torque. Not bad for just a exhaust mod

You can see my chart here

since everybody else is posting power figures I may as well join in.
Sierra RS Cosworth 2L 16v turbo. Stage 1 chip, Full Stainless Magnex, K&N Cone.
Max Power - 274bhp
Max Torque - 263 lb/ft
Ample, sez I.
100% genuine quote from Mervin;
"if only the Subarus were this straightforward we'd be laughing." LOL
Chins, I was thinking about plastering astraboy all over the cossie but then I thought it would look a bit odd. So I didn't. However, I did like the look of Blowdog's Sticker on the rear wing of the Makk.
astraboy.
P.S. Hi SL2, Thanks for the directions to USH.net, I am making full use of the waffle forum. PLUR
