Oh, crap! epic fail, Lol! ok, i'll just copy pics over and explain it as best as i can. guy on another forum buys a classic impreza with a shafty lump and loads of prodrive bits on it.
then proceeds to rip the lump out and replace it with the lump out of this.....
and the gearbox out of this....
engine set in
he had to modify the tunnel a little...
engine was then mounted..
rear mount...
and thats as far as it goes just now, will update for youse as time goes on.
Leet the slaughter commence....................

whoa, lot of haters here!!! to answer a question someone posted he is putting a 1.7td derv lump into a classic impreza. its not a "serious project", and he accepts that it is an unheard of thing to do, but he is doing it to see "if he can"
a quote from him on the jon44w forum.....
ATEOTD, when its finished its job will be to be a Fancy looking work horse, running on Red, and shunting trailers and things about, and as someone here did say, ya gotta give him kudos for taking it on, and even more if he gets it to run....

its only being done for a bit of craic, nothing has been took seriously, sure look at the engine mount, that just shows how much thought has been put into her

well i'm now signed up thanks to bud1970 letting me know about this
first of all i'm not a 'special' person lol
the reason behind this project is simple, i bought it for breaking and it had 11 months mot on it, the body work off the car is quite ruff so imo wasn't worth putting another boxer engine in but i thought it would be a sin just to scrap the shell
so me and the brother was chatting about what to do with her, i wanted to use it as a rally car but he said we'll do something stupid and put a diesel in her, as we didn't know if anything other than a flat 4 could actually fit we decided to use a cheap engine so if it didn't work we didn't care but it also needed to have a rwd gearbox bolted on, which is why the td cavalier engine was chosen, the full cavalier was 180 quid and the omega box bolts straight on, after a bit of cutting to the cradle we got the engine in and high enough so the sump wasn't going to hit the ground
at the moment we have the engine fully mounted, cradle modified and welded back together with the steering rack lowered to clear the sump, there isn't really a big pile of work left to get here going
and for anyone that remembered me saying the body was ruff, wouldn't you know about 2 months ago i got another impreza for breaking the same colour with real good panels, i'll wait to i get the diesel engine going before swapping the panels over
