Hey, got a quick question for you all, what cleaning products are best to clean the engine bay, had a look through some of the project threads and seen a lot of gleaming red shiny inlets how do I get mine to shine?

Sounds like a stupid question I know

Thanks

Unless your paint is fully intact (unlikely) then this would be the only real way to comprehensively rejuvenate your IM:-

I try not to start cleaning things under the bonnet, as you can quickly get OCD about it.

However, unbelievably clean and tasteful looking bays look the . Things of beauty and a source of pride.

Anyone had anymore luck cleaning the inlets? Nearly a year on and I'm still struggling to get them to shine! Maby I should just give up but that's not me!

Are you sure your finish is supposed to shine? My Inlet has been painted in glossy red by the previous owner, it shines up easily enough with some degreaser and a wipe down.

You may just have a matte finish to yours!

I need to get my dremel and metal polish out for my bay.

You have a standard sti crinkle red inlet manifold. This will never be shiny as it has a matt, crinkle paint finish. If you want it shiny, powder coat it in a colour of your choice
