UNtil I saw it was a cat-c insurance write off i thought the price was reasonable to start negotiations at. Now though... overpriced.

Like I posted on the PassionFord thread:

Having looked through your previous posts I can see my car is not the first you've posted on with your opinion of it's price, which leads me to ask why do you feel the need to post such derogatory comments on other people's for sale threads when you so clearly aren't interested in the vehicle being advertised?
It is my car and my advert, if I would like to price it so and it doesn't sell, oh well it won't sell! I don't see how this affects you?

You obviously want to sell the car, hence you've advertised it.

I think the chap is just trying to offer some friendly advice to help you sell it.

So how much would everyone say its worth? Bearing in mind within the last 2000 miles its had a cambelt kit, godspeed brake discs, kevlar pads and braided hoses, exedy clutch, oil & coolant change, in terms of needing anything its sorted for a long time.

I know most of the parts have gone, I originally never mentioned the UK300 about it but someone on another forum said I should!

It's a tricky one to judge price wise as it's such a mix of parts. Anyone buying it will be interested in the drivetrain. The STi has AVCS and the WRX doesn't so it either has had extensive loom work or the AVCS is being driven by the wiring from the WRX Tumble Generator Valves which would have been removed.

The provenance for the engine must also be known as they can be pretty much ragged if second hand.

The other thing is that the WRX gearbox and clutch are not really up to the job of taking the power from a mapped STi engine and are prone to fail.

I'd start at £3400 (adding £1000 premium for the Sti engine) and haggle..

It's a cat C.

The bits that made it special have been removed

If anything, having an STI engine will put most people off (who aren't in the know).

Your gonna struggle with this one, i would be surprised if it made £3000.

Where is the proof its a UK300? Not that they are anything special. My point being, apart from the wheels eveything else is normal wrx so that is more than likely what it is surely.
