I reckon I'd give an early one a run but the new ones are mega.
Agree the early one's aren't any near as fast as the new one's with lambo v10 power with twin turbo's to boot
It's just an endless onslaught of pulling power!

A pal owns an early avant that he's spent a few quid on. Makes somewhere near 500 but it's the noise that gets me. Remember him holding it on the limiter a while ago while I was parked next to him in my jeep, I could feel my truck shaking..
once they are moving though the torque keeps them in front
Yeah this is something alot seem to not understand, with the virtual instant throttle response it would be quicker out of corners and over taking etc,a slightly laggy 450ish subaru wouldn't keep with it on the roads in the real world I wouldn't think.

yes just because you can run similar standing quarters doesnt mean you can get anywhere near when its on the road.
once the car is moving the torque will kill most cars on an open road.
i was at pod yesterday and a gtr was only half a second in front of a few 450+ bhp imprezas but i doubt any of them would keep up once the car is moving on a track or road

Had a play with a new saloon two nights ago ...up my *** all the way, for a barge they can shift. pretty sure he would of strolled passed after 120.
And my car can half shift makes the 997 turbo feel lame need to get it on the rollers. Everyone else said it feels much quicker now that its done more than 1500 miles and the engine is bedded in properly

Even if you could just about keep with it you would be driving the car right on the limit where as the RS6/GTR would be well with-in it's boundaries with being a more solid/planted car for handling purposes at speed.

i have tried to explain this to a corsa boy at work when he did 15.6 secs in his corsa claiming it was only 3 secs slower than my impreza.
waste of time though as an halfords induction kit is f1 technnology to them

I've got a lad in my town who seriously believes he has 400 bhp in his scoob because he has blue silicone hoses and a bailey DV
He still wouldn't have it when I changed out his fooked TD04L and we compared it to my S215,it was like a pea against a water melon
im not convinced standing quarters mean a lot, there was a noble there yesterday and he barely managed to get under 14 secs and i know these are fast having been in one.

plenty of them about, i met a guy who claimed to have 360 bhp in his m reg wrx complete with original turbo and slanty top mount.
genuine 400 bhp imprezas are actually quite rare to see in the flesh but everyones "mate" has one.

This I was thinking, but seen this on the Santa pod and i've been disappointed.
About the how it does on the track, have look on Nurburgring lap times and there is on the 81 place Audi RS6 with 8:09

Comparing the GT-R with RS6,two different cars
GT-R will kill RS6 like on the road or on the track, all depends off course on the driver
Very true, you can almost instantly tell when the bonnet is pulled up if it's 400+ or not, like you say everyone's mate has one
that said i met a guy yesterday at pod who had a standard looking 04 blob sti
lifted the bonnet and it had a 2.35 running 550 plus bhp and he had also fitted a dccd hawkeye box and jdm sweeping clocks.

i think he ran 11.8 secs
Can't beat a street sleeper, had one in work last week that was a nice surprise when the bonnet was popped,P1 completely standard looking but WOW under the bonnet/boot
Imagine thinking it's standard and finding this!!
