I was on this forum a few years ago under a different name, (i cant log in as forgot details lol) cos i had a jdm wrx ra, that swiftly blew the bottom end out in 3 months of ownership, i loved the way the car drove, but that was the only impreza i've had, i have the chance to pick up an 03 wrx, whats the general opinion on these and what can be done to bump up the weedy bhp to sti spec power? cheers

Hi there

If you can afford STi,get STi,just engine is stronger,6speed,Brembo brakes and will be cheaper to mod,

If you will go with WRX,270-280bhp is possible on the WRX with remap, better fuel pump, decatted exhaust plus decatted up pipe.If you want more bhp(above 300bhp),this will be more expensive

All depends how much bhp you are looking for

i think 280 bhp will be nice, its only for a daily driver as i have modded 320bhp s70r for my weekend toy

I'm not sure, but I've seen yours T5 on the Santa pod few months ago, maybe i'm mistaken with someone else

About the WRX,if you will be happy with 270-280bhp would say WRX will be OK for you,but still think Bugeye STi should be cheaper way

I've seen a few of those volvos on YouTube in Sweden with unbelievable power figures and still road legal and keeping up with supercars, I can see why you like them.
