Mate, I'd rather send it away for a rebuild, unless your good with the old spanners. Ps, I've no idea what gaskets cost for a subaru, but 350 quid sounds crazy? Unless I've missed something buddy?

Just buy an STI8 bottom end and it will have all the bits including crank that you want but will be alot cheaper and stronger.

I agree with Steve, sti 8 bottom end would be the way to go and in the long term gives you the option to mod further than a wrx engine.

Is the crank nitrided and cross drilled or a standard one ? This could save me a few quid !!

The only issue with this is taking the chance and not truly knowing the condition of the engine ? If I could get a decent sti8 engine at a good price , this may be a better option .

If anyone has an STI engine in perfect condition at a good price I will consider this seriously.
