Hi everyone
Currently have my 52 WRX bug engine, laid out on the floor. She needs a rebuild.
Currently searching for the best prices for my bits listed below. Showing parts required and the best prices I have so far.
Any advice on parts or alternatives etc is very much appreciated.
All inc VAT
Oil pump 11mm high flow - £162 Mark @ import car parts
Piston ring set £148 - Mark @ import car parts
Full gaskets / seals kit - 342.43 - Mark @ import car parts
Nitrided crank / ACL main and big end bearings - £545 - Mark @ import car parts
con rod x 1 £72.86 - dealer
Timing belt - Stock - £149.90 - dealer
oil filter - £13.98 - dealer
anti freeze - £24 - dealer
Oil x 5L - £33.31 - dealer
3 bond sealant - £38.14 - dealer
Parts total £1529.12 (so far) Hoping to chop a few quid off lol.

Mate, I'd rather send it away for a rebuild, unless your good with the old spanners. Ps, I've no idea what gaskets cost for a subaru, but 350 quid sounds crazy? Unless I've missed something buddy?

i rebuild engines myself (including my own impreza,s engine) here is a list of prices on most items i got for mine hope it helps.
genuine subaru gasket set £350 from import car parts (includes every single engine gasket top and bottom end)
piston ring set £120 advanced automotives
acl race series bearings big and little ends £110 ebay
full timing belt kit £160 performance zone
oil filter £7 halfords
oil proof gasket silicolne £9.99 local auto parts supplier
i have a perfectly good crank (tested and not reground) and rods (tested all straight and true) that you can have for £120 + postage if interested i also own a garage specializing in subarus in west yorkshire if you need any help or even the job doing for a reasonable price

The only issue with this is taking the chance and not truly knowing the condition of the engine ? If I could get a decent sti8 engine at a good price , this may be a better option .
