Default Parking rant

Why do people park next to my car when I deliberately park further away and leave good space?

I don't trust normal people in normal/sh*tty cars!!

(P.S. To be fair when I do see a decent car (e.g. Ariel Atom) I have parked beside them before )

I know exactly what you mean. I purchased my Scoob from Scotland & on the return journey I bobbed into a service station & parked the car so far away from the entrance no one in their right mind would park anywhere near it.

Guess what someone had parked right next to it, obviously I saw the funny side and put a 6 foot long scratch down it..... no not really but I felt like it!

OMG I can't believe I've just seen this expression on here!

Me and my parents use that all the time, when in a coffee shop, a restaurant, even seats away from everyone on a boat, an empty car park, we always get herded!!

Talk about make my day or what, that's just so funny!!!!!!

They used to sell those clips that look likefingers that go on the edge of your door to prevent damage to your car when you bash in to the nice Scooby over the far side of the car park. Would a bumper strip at door height look weird?

I hate this. A while back, I had been shopping in town and I went to get the Metro home (a bit like a train for those who don't know), it was virtually empty so I got myself a seat in an empty section, only for some woman to come and sit right opposite me. Now obviously I can't control where people sit and I didn't want to be nasty, so I just got up and moved to another empty space. Thankfully she didn't follow.

As for the parking, it annoys me too. We often park right away from everyone else, only to get back and somebody is parked alongside. What makes it more annoying, is there are often still plenty of empty spaces so they could park free from door dingers as well.

People always do it to my cars too. I just think they want to park next to something nice and bang their door on it ! I try not to take my car to supermarkets and if i do i always park in a quiet corner, come back to the car and 9 times out 10 there is a car poorly parked at the side of it ! even though there are plenty of easy free spaces around to choose from

The thing that annoys me is when I'm queuing for something and the person behind stands too close invading my personal space, I no longer go in Post Offices to avoid the stinking great unwashed.

Thats another gripe. Yeah had that one. To make it worse you get the fat bloke that thinks hes still 10 stone and bangs his belly into you.

People are like sheep, some like to heard and some like to split off into two's or more. It seemed a good idea to park away from other cars to stop the car park dints, but someone will always follow.

Once i did the old parking at the most obscure corner of the car park routine, gets back to find a people carrier parked millimeters away from my car. The people were embarking from the vehicle which including a few old fossils with walking sticks and crutches. They had actually hung the walking sticks from my wing mirrors and the crutches were leaned against the rear of mycar while they were doing their faffing.

Wouldn't mind but there were no other cars around yet they chose to invade my space.

Peoples lack of respect for the property of others never ceases to astound. In this case it was the old "I'm a disabled person, i've got special needs and priviliges and the rest of society can **** off" way of thinking.

I always see the child parking bays as fair game for parking because i've lost count of the number of bitches in 4x4's full of spoilt little brats nearly knocking me over while walking across the car park so it's a kind of pay back.

A few years back I took my mum to the Antiques Roadshow at Leicester's DeMontfort Hall. We were the first to arrive in the car park and yet the next car to come along parked right beside us.

I'd left the back door open while I got some stuff out and he just sat and waited until I'd closed it and then drove in. He had the whole car park to use, but chose to park next to us. Weird.
