Looks half decent mate, good start. Does it/will it have a forum at any stage? Be good to see this grow. Shame I'm in the east. Would come to some meets, maybe it will go national in time. Sidc seems a bit lame in England in general, they concentrate up north more nowadays.

Yes looks good
Sidc seem to have moved up to Scotland as they could not even get a stand organised for the NBO again this year
So look forward to a Subaru Impreza owners club display at the NBO 11 on June 30th 2013
Any advice as one of the original founders of CS and TTS 11/12 years ago
Omg didn't realise I have been in the scene that long !!
Give me a shout

Like any club if there's nothing going on in your area.... become RO and organise stuff.
It's easy to complain that theres nothing.... and it's not much harder to organise things!
The fact that SIDC is more active north or the border is because the RO's are putting the effort in...... as a paid up member instead of complaining on another forum pop into the members area and start a thread! ;-)

Like i said become RO for your area and organise stuff then!
There's 2 options on a forum/club.
1. Sit back and wait for everything to be organised for you and just turn up
2. Do some organising and turn up and have the satisfaction of knowing it you who made people happy and feel part of the club.
Neither of the options are particularly hard it's just that one of them takes some time and effort....

Cambridgeshire and Midlands areas both have monthly meets and national shows are attended at Santa Pod, Silverstone and Snetterton which are all not a great distance from you - if there's anything else you would like to see as Davey has suggested please feel free to mention it on the forums, events/meets are not exclusively arranged by the RO's so if you are willing to step up and arrange something it would be more than welcomed.

Some RO's are too busy and things fall off their to-do list. Some guys just jack it in as they don't have the time and no-one steps up to ake their place....
New blood is always needed to keep clubs going.
The fact that there was a load of guys down from North of the Border to meet up with a load of guys from down south for the Rally day at castle Coombe says the club isn't just a north of the border thing (as we keep hearing). The Chairwoman lives down Oxford/Cambridge way i do believe, as we keep haveing remind people.
Honestly i'd say if we need to have to a discussion about this it should be done over on SIDC not on another forum. That way everyone can have their say....

i have seen the sidc boys at santa pod and again at castle coombe.
they usually have a nice selection of well modded cars, last time at pod i had a chat with don about his new saloon and the guy with the awesome rcm wr1( i cant remember his name).
you need to put some effort/travelling in.
no doubt i will see them at trax in a few weeks
im 30 miles from cambridge and a member of beds and bucks subarus who attend most of the big shows and time attack events

1815 actually.
I asked the question and was not trying to provoke such a response. SIDC started to fall apart about 4 years ago and never recovered, I and another SN member were approached to be the RO for South Wales but having seen what had happened previously with the voting in of Chair's (being PC) and the hierachy it was not worth the acrymony.
We now have a group of people who organise, run meets and shows from the bottom up and not the top down without being told and it only cost £1 a year to get a badge here on Scooby Net. We have attended shows way out of area and had a great time too. Discount parts, insurance and servicing can be had without being a member of a club, the last post on the Wales Section of SIDC was in May12 without a single reply! Our next club stand attendance at the Forge PCAD will be free .
Like the marque, the image as faded and to get it back will be very difficult.
I am still a member of SIDC (with a different username) but as I don't pay subscriptions anymore I cannot access some of the Forums, so it would be difficult to discuss it. This is an open forum site which is much easier to air your views on.
I hope the SIOC takes off and maybe SIDC will pick up too but the target audience is getting smaller and time is precious for most people in the current climate.

The SIDC is picking its feet up again, thanks to some sterling work from the current committee and others; and 47 cars were on the stand for Rally Day at Castle Combe.........

SIDC isn't/wasn't the most welcoming.
At JAE a few years ago, trying to ask SIDC people stuff, and they just turned and walked away......
Meh, the only good thing about it was the magazine.

I, along with others from 'north of the boarder' travelled over 800 miles last Fri/Sat for our club & joined the 'southern cousins' for a bloody good time at Castle Combe!
As Davey said, jump on the forums and ask the question, we don't know it's broke if we aint told
The club has turned around dramatically in the last few years as a direct result of not only the committee but new members stepping up, joining in and making it all worth while for everyone.
Give it a try
