car views please
I am a new owner to my very first subaru, a 1999 uk impreza and think its such a great car even tho the mpg can be bad. Has anyone had a classic subaru and now has a newer one, has i would ilke to hear your views on how the newer models compare to the classic.
I love the car and dont no if to just drive it and enjoy it and save for a newer model maybe a 03 0r 04 plate, or to put my money into the classic and make a good car. All views most welcome.

I would be more inclined to go for an import model rather than uk and to also opt for an sti. I had a uk classic and it is watered down in comparison to a classic jdm sti.
UK Classic vs new age sti ..... New age has better engine, gearbox, clutch, brakes, suspension, turbo, inte rior etc etc. the only downside is it weighs a bit more

Cheers for your replies, i am thinking of keeping the car and doing a few mods to get it near 300 hp which is more then enough for me. The car has just reached 100k , do these cars put up good miles or is 100k too much to start uping the power. Anybody done any engine mods around 100k or more.

My mapper once told me that he had mapped scoobys with 140k miles. Adding 80bhp to the engine will not stress it, make suremyou use good engine oil.
The hike in torque will put more pressure on the clutch, but with 100k you should be on your second clutch by now? If the clutch has not been changed you will find that it probably slips when getting the car remapped.
You will need to change your turbo for 300+ bhp.
