Roadchef Service Stations.
Beware of Roadchef service stations everyone.
In the morning I pop in on the way to work, then I use the same motorway services on the way home in the early evening for a fuel fill-up. A couple of weeks later a threatening letter to say I had parked there all day, and if I don't pay up swiftly they will double the parking charge. I don't think so, not born yesterday.
W@nkers have not replied to my emails either.
Steer clear if I were you and use the next service station!

Don't worry, just ignore their letter - the parking charge or 'fine' is unenforceable. Just pop it in the bin and forget about it. Google is your friend here if you don't trust/believe me.

I'm not all that worried. It is a PITA though, and fooking cheeky. I was already topping up and paying through the nose and then the cheeky ***** send me a parking fine too!
The best bit of all though..... The pictures they have sent to me as 'proof', don't even show me parked.
Steer clear of Roadchef chaps.

My Boss met a Customer at a Road Chef.
Bought him a meal (rip off prices) coffeees etc etc.
I reckon he spent the best part of £40 there.
He got a ticket because he was there over 2 hours.
He paid up.
Are you saying these motorway Car Parking Enforcement Companies have no legal rights to get you to pay for staying over the 2 hours then??
Cheers.

Only police and council traffic wardens can enforce a parking ticket mate,
Most of these places that run these private car parks or shopping centre 3hrs max parking is total crap,
Its an invitation to pay, offer u half price if u pay up before 14 days,
U end up with a few letters with court action but its just a threat, not enforceable,
they pay the dvla to get ure details that how they can trace the owner to send the letters, but most people who dont know any better will pay up

Wifey had one a couple of years back in the local shopping centre. I googled and told her to ignore it, the "fine" went up to £971 with threats of seven days to pay, then three weeks later another letter, if they can't count to seven what chances they are enforceable?!!? I was hoping to get it over a grand!
Not heard anything from them for about six months now.

Yes that information is correct
Apart from a council parking or a police parking ticket which MUST be paid
The rest from all those enforcement companies should be filed in the bin
Do not contact them and complaine as it only makes it worse as they know you exist
Eventually after a few letters they gave up and go away to get someone else as many others pay up
Google it or money saving expert .com for info
So just ignore it and continue using the service station as its not their fault

I've collected a few now and have never paid one. Parking Eye is my favourite as their letters look so much like a fine when it's actually just a non enforcable charge. The best part is that it costs these crooks £2.50 to get your address from the DVLA, so if everyone ignored them they'd soon go bust.

Fair enough, it was the other company I had issues with. Spent hours writing emails (only getting generic replies) phoned their premium number twice (both times they hung up on me!) and then decided as they weren't willing to talk to me about it I would ignore them too. I ended up with half a dozen letters, the fine went up to about £100, court threats arrived but then everything stopped, that was a year and a half ago.
