You mean idle control valve? It only has rubber o-ring inside no other gaskets and you should be able to re use it

My 2005 wrx had a gasket which needed replaced when you remove and refit the iacv. I cleaned the iacv but the unit was broken - was giving a code reading of P0519 - idle air control system performance. New gasket part no 22659AA120 from local Sub dealer for £7. Dead simple replacement - see NASIOC for some good pics of IACV -

sorry to ressurect an old (ish) thread... did you have much sucess on this?

I too need to clean up my ICV and cant find any info on a facelift classic, everything is about the pre-facelift or the newage.
Subaru parts dealership say there is no gasket that can be bought seperate.

Also is the process of removing it the same as a pre-facelift? (i.e. located in the same place etc?)

Barxy, 2 small M4 size bolts with a screwdriver and she's off. Plug on the back if you need to disconnect. Brake/carb cleaner to rid it of soot and crap. Jobs a good in. Usually reuse the gasket, I have before

Only sometimes the car may not idle for a short while before clonking out, nothing to worry about, just the valve setting itself from what a specialist told me

Great, thanks will take a look later. i just read somewhere about having the remove the intercooler and coolant hoses etc....
Ive cleaned many ICV's in pervious cars so fingers crossed this works just aswell.
Regarding the idle, cant be any worse than it is at the mo ha!

Well whatever you've read is either incorrect or for a different car. On the late classics the icv is on the throttle bottle on top of the engine slightly off center. If you need to remove anything for access there is something seriously wrong LOL!
