Hi there guys,

Just signed upto SN today as looking to swap from my Astra VXR to a Subaru and to gather as much information prior to purchasing.

Just a few questions as I am currently considering 2 models either the Hawkeye with PPP and DCCD or the 08 Hatchback STI.

So had a few questions
-Do all Hawkeyes come with DCCD?
-Do Hatches come with DCCD?
-What would be the pro's/con's of owning one as opposed to the other or is just a simple factor of what shape you prefer?

Cheers

Hawkeye on a 06 plate is the best car by far and cheaper tax mate

Thats brilliant, Hawkeye was my first preference in white, black or blue

Is there any issues with the 2.5 as I have heard people say go for the 2litre one instead

Is that expensive on a Scooby and would it make that much difference between choosing between the 2? As in how common would you say the problem is?

Baz, i thought they overlooked the year 2006 for tax hike, then increased it for 2007 onwards. But not totally sure

^^ It was 23 Mar 2006 when it increased ie cars reg'd before that date are ok. Tbh though it's only £200 a year more after that date so not a lot when you consider the cost of fuel etc

Thats brilliant, think it will be a Hawkeye. Do they all come with DCCD?

TX exactly, ain't exactly cheap to run with servicing, tyres and fuel, but we all love a thrill

Definitely not overlooked, although wish it was!
23rd of March 2006 cut-off and mine was first registered on the 4th of April 2006 meaning I'm in the higher bracket by a week and a half!

Although as Terminator says, it's not that much in the grand scheme of things and well worth it anyway!

Have you thought about the 2.0L JDM hawkeye as the 2.5L can have a few HG issues not just on the hatch as that was piston ringlands aswell, There was a very nice one in white for sale on here
