There is a stolen car list on Pistonheads. Might be worth the owner getting the details up on there to maximise coverage.

Now, that's a nice car! Would love to think it was the 'Overhaulin' team going to finish it for him but I guess it'll be stripped. They knew exactly what they wanted.

What a bunch of cunnnts, thas proper wrong! Must be somebody who knows about the car or why go through all that effort for a non runner, bet they knew what it was all about, i take it that it was slightly better than your average joe blogs rat that u see these days!!!

Have you contacted the cctv people or highways agency to see if it has been spotted on camera??

it was a full nut and bolt rebuild , he finished it , it wasnt right so he stripped it all down again to repaint and rebuild , as i said it was a well loved car with thousands of man hours and pounds spent ,

the annoying thing was it was spotted on the back of a breakdown truck at 1pm today in southall but then dissapeared before it could be located

Just trawled through every astra van on ebay just in case they were trying to sell now its been spotted. The silver roof bars especially make it quite unique as well as the kit. Definitely later 2007-ish shape cos of the front bumper grill that can be seen.

No joy I’m afraid.

The fact that they have a van would make me suspicious that they also do house burglaries. Van may be known to the police already linked to other crimes.

the pic is from the hotel security cam at the end of the road from where the car was taken , i doubt very much it was towed far at 3 in the morning as the only cars on the road at that time are police and taxis , id emagine there was a flatbed waiting around the corner , the odd thing is another friend of mine was having a photo shoot for classic ford last month and he saw the white van driving back and forth past the pub carpark where he was having the shoot it then followed him untill he got out and confronted the guy who said he was lost !! odd

Very suspect. Can he give a description of the guy? Sounds like the van may be very local to the area then if it’s been about before! Escort may still be close.

One of my mates had his immaculate original escort rs turbo stolen in the same way at night off his drive towed off not running engine to not wake anyone. Ended up across town completely stripped with burned out empty shell within hours of being stolen. Lets hope this car is still in 1 piece. The owner must be so upset cant even imagine after the hours and love put into it. Makes you furious!
