Default Anyone Local have a V5/6 Type R

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone local to Colchester would be interested in meeting up and taking me for a spin in their car.

I currently have a 05 JDM STi which I absolutely love! But my soft spot for classics keeps coming back and I was tempted to sell up and try a V6 Type R for a while but I have never been in one crazy I know. So I thought the best thing to do was go in one have a look at a few and decide what I want from a car.

Can anyone give me any advice on these... Pros and Cons how will it compare to my current car... Am I completely MAD! Anything that may help would be great

It really depends what you want to use the car for, the car you have now is the best newage sti, the car you want to drive isn't the best classic, if you want the best one you need to be looking at a v3 sti typr r, like mine

On a 99 v4 myself... Best car I have ever owned, classic over newage anyday for me... especially with extra ponies. Was epic standard, and is more so tuned.

DCCD + Snow = serious smiles per gallon.

Well said rob. I love it when it snows. And the power in them seems to shift so much better

V3 FTW, ABS is for puss!es,

On a serious note, i have an 04 WRX PPP Wagon with AP 4 pots up front for a daily, so on a parr with a standard STI, as a daily driver it's a better all round package and quicker in a lot of situations.

The type r is a totally different drive and you really need to spend some time behind the wheel to see if it's your cup of tea.

If it was me i'd mod the 05 sti to around 430 ish.

I sold off my well spec'd newage sti and returned back to classic ownership with a P1 as I found the newage to lardy for my liking compared to a gc8 especially through the twisties where my standard p1 felt more planted. The only thing I miss about my old sti is all the money I shelled out on it and also that 6th gear
