Hello all -
Going to buy an Impreza. Can't run the 911 anymore with the kids - it's just too chaotic and cramped - not doing the car any favours - or my back.
They said it couldn't be done - and they were absolutely right!![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So - I want to get a basic, relatively new - new shape WRX. As simple and unmodified as possible. Just can't get my head round the pricing...
Does this seem about right?

Are there any blindingly obvious things to look for with this car - other than high speed damage/servicing/tyres/brakes stuff?
Any help greatly welcomed
Dave

Hi Dave, just to stick my 2 pence in, if you are going from a 911 to an Impreza, I personally feel an STI would be more suitable! There is plenty of info on here and the web to expain the difference between the two... in a nutshell... everything!!!

Cheers chaps
I should point out - it's an old 911 - a 3.0 Carrera - not actually that fast, and bloody noisy and cramped and utterly hair raising on a cold icy morning!
Don't know how new to go - but I've got a bout ten grand to spend...
Any advice about what to look for common faults wise would be very welcome!
Cheers,
Dave

Cheers Chaps
I should point out that it's an old 911 - a 3.0 Carrera - Noisy, unreliable and cramped plus a terror on an icy morning. I love it - but it's just a bit much.
I've got about ten grand to spend - any advice on what to look for and common faults on Impreza's in general would be really helpful!
Best and thanks
Dave

if it was me i would go for the jdm sti`s with the 2 litre rather than the 2.5, spec c would be my choice, not sure if you can get a hawkeye spec c for 10k, i`m sure someone will know on here. the 2.5s can be a bit iffy

This would suit you perfectly if you could stretch your budget a wee bit.

It's a bit much , the Porsche. In very certain circumstances it's a joy to drive. I live in quite a remote place in the Chilterns and after the end of October it's just too much of a handful to drive at speed. It's more the horrific understeer than the horrific oversteer that's the real pain. Actually - it's gone now.
Going to buy one just like this...

The problem with that car is that it will drop value like a stone, why not buy something a little older with a better spec for less money and that will hold value better (all imprezas lose value at a vast speed however).
Best of the bunch if you like the newer models is a late widetrack blob STI.

Sorry about the huge delay - family chaos - sorted now.
Right - after using a borrowed GTI for far too long (Surprisingly good but a bit slow) it's Impreza time. How much should I pay for a decent late blob one then? Don't really care about colour or spec...
Best
