Above the mirror in front of int lights, a flap pulls down
What's that about?

It's a small sun visor for when the sun is in the middle. All newages have them unless you have a spec c roof vent fitted, like I do

Are you sure it`s not to stop the interior light shining outside the car if someone is map reading or whatever? That`s what I was told
It never seems to block any sun out as it seems to be too small.

I was told it was to block out the sun when using the rear view miror if it was blinding you............ not sure what danger there would be with the map light shining outside the car.

It`s not so much a danger as a possible distraction to cars in front of you or even maybe cars approaching you. Just something I heard or read somewhere.
