Tbh mate it's not likely you would get a decent answer on here.
You would need to have a damn good look round the car to see what's what.
Could have seized brakes, handbrake could be stuck on, could be loads that needs doing, or very little, without looking at the car no one could really give you a clue

Depends if it's been stored away, or just left parked, clutch could be stuck on, smart person would have greased the brakes and had the clutch pressed, battery disconnected,
Interior could be moldy it's common for the car to get damp. All depends on the price,

When cars like this can be had for under 3 grand (see link) your mad to throw a grand at a bug WRX with knackered motor.
Before you know it you'll have another 2 grand wrapped up in it.

the problem i will have is i dont have £3k and i know this car and the money spent on it and it would be a mid term project that i can learn on, the engine had less than 50000 before big ends went

what other mods has it then as this may be a better way to determine what its worth

Agree with this...but... if you and your bro are gonna do it together it will be a great laugh for 500 each! Yes it will cost you more but a good way to learn i suppose. Wont be easy though im sure... Good luck if you do it

If you can persuade the owner to knock a couple of hundred quid off the price then go for it chap.
