Default old knock sensor

had my new knock sensor put in today by my mechanic mate as i didnt have the tools to do it and only took him 20 minutes and after seeing the state of the old one no wonder it was showing as a fault...

i know it must of been like that for a while (i have been driving it for about 2 months with the fault but only weekends) its split all over and rusted inside, well f****d

yeah so am i, the timing must of been retarded if it was like that, it looks knackered and i did an ecu reset, so now the ecu has to learn again then will be back to normal but the light has gone out (touch wood) but im sure that was the problem, the engine sounds and feels alright just slightly noisey tappets.
