diagnostic plug in
hi, i recently bought a 1995 uk impreza 2 litre turbo, whilst changing the dashboard bulbs from standard to l e d blue, i noticed some of the warning light bulbs were missing, 1 of which was the engine management 1, on replacing them all & putting my dash in & starting her up i noticed my engine check light came on after about 30 seconds, so i turned it off straight away. my question is where is the plug in to enable me to see what the problem is & repair it. people have told me all sorts from its subaru garage only to there isnt one, so as this is my first scooby im at a total loss. could someone please let me know where the plug in is so i can repair asap. i know there is loads of various modes of this car, so, mine is a 1995 N reg {sept N reg 1995} subaru impreza 2000 turbo uk version with the 160 mph speedo & rev counter is on the left as you look at the facia.please help, thank you

Read the 'Manually Reading Codes' section
http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...eadingECUCodes
or take it to a good Subaru specialist who would most likely have a Select Monitor (subarus own diagnostic tool)
Then go round to who you bought it off and ask if they know why the CEL bulb was missing because I would be pretty pissed off finding that out.

The section you need to read is in the link
If there reader is OBD II then no they wont be able to plug and read it,but read the link I've posted and you can do it for free
Always worth using the 'Search' facility as woul dexpect many of your 'daft ' questions will have already been answered
These dashboard lights should show up when keys in ignition switched to on
