R205 or S206 NBR?

R205 or S206 NBR?
I hated the hatch until I seen the R205 now having owned one and loving it I am finding it hard to consider anything else including the new saloon S206 NBR. It's the longest I have kept a car as I usually sell up after a year.
Couple of things that put me off is the near £55k price tag and the fact that it runs 19" wheels plus the extra weight of it being a saloon.
What would you do in my position stick with the R205 which cost me £40k or sell up and go for the S206 NBR?

I love the R205 and would personally stick with it. The only other I would consider being they have dropped in price is the Cosworth but I know this isn't everyone's cuppa. Still not a fan of the latest saloons, would prefer a hatch if I had the option.

Immy,
How can you possibly ask such a simply question to answer.
If you have the options available..... it has to be the S206 NBR. Even though I suspect you'll lose a shedload on the R205, unless a real car nut comes along.
But **** it, it's only money mate!

Tbh I am more concerned about losing a shed load on the S206 NBR will I really be able to get £50k back for her and is it that much more desirable?
If it was £40k I would of had one on my driveway by now!
I just put the R205 up on pheads and already had a guy call asking me what it was he is considering a Cossi STI, don't see myself losing to much money on it thanks to the Cossi and European demand for JDM's especially anything spec c exotic. I know I can get the asking price as there was loads of interest from Italy and Germany last time it was up. It cost £42k for a standard STI in Italy/Germany
And I don't know about you Shaun,but I can't afford to **** money up a tree

IMO the 206 is better in looks as it looks more rally appealing (but do you want that look), the 205 is more refined looking without saying look at me, and is more than capable and more practical, so depends what your after. For somebody in my shoes I'd keep the 205 tbh.
If you sold the 205, what type of price would it go for? Only thing that I don't like about yours is colour, not a fan of the blue, I'd get it wrapped.
So I'm voting 205

Sell yours for 40k then drop another 15k into a car that will loose money so I would ask myself what is the point. Other than that gaining a boot and excuse my limited knowledge what do you get with the nbr of the r205?
Keeping in mind you still have the exclusivity of owning a limited edition r205 which in my book is on par with saying you have the nbr, if that makes sense so
What advantages / extras / toys do you get on the s206 to warrant selling up.

Still here pal but me and Subaru's are going separate ways now. Enjoyed my time but things move on and I don't think Subaru are (well not in the UK).
I reckon the S206 would hold a fairly good return but Subaru are on the slide and a lot of the old die hards are moving away
Not sure what the picture will be like for Subaru in 12 months time but looking at there market share, number of dealers etc i see trouble coming soon.

Immy if there are no positive gains in buying it over your r205 then unless you have 15k your willing to sink in a new car that you don't need or you really have to have a boot then sorry but I don't see the point. You already have a desirable car, one of the best out of the box so what are you gaining by doing it. Yeah life is shirt, yeah you can't take the money with you but if you have 15k spare why not sink it in something you were willing to track, a new house for your kids when they are older or as a extra income etc. Personally would stick with you got unless you had a pension plan, multiple houses, kids all grown up etc and just had the cash to burn
Whatever you do I'm very jealous that your in the position......... Lol, best of luck

Plus I've heard about these great new Turbos and TMIC from Chevron motorsport

That's more like to Immy and albeit a lovely idea to get a new car, think of what a few k would do to your r205 and what end result you would have. In fairness it would be a much better car and cost a fraction of the money you would need to sink in just a buying the new one let alone the extra you would spend tweaking it like you have with the r205

I really like the S206 NBR, don't get me wrong, but there's just something about the R205 that appeals to me. It's more of a 'sleeper', it looks a bit more original and I'm not a fan of spoilers like the S206 has... like rather 'aftermarket-ish'. Personally, i prefer the R205 but I'm loving the S206's rims and front lip/splitter

Right have received a deposit and looks like the car is heading to Italy same as my previous RA-R.
Serious pondering time to be done as the S206 NBR is going to be 50k which is swaying me to a 997 turbo gen 2.
On the other hand now someone has stepped up to buy the car am actually having 2nd thoughts because I don't really want to replace it with a porker.........wtf should I do?????
