How easy is it fitting short shifter to classics

Gor a short shifter for my 1995 classic can't remember how hard they are to fit so before I start faffing about how difficult are they to fit?

Very easy, but not that much use, unless you have a VERY expensive one.

Piece of cake. Mine wasn't too expensive but made the change much nicer. Had it on about 3 years now. Made it much less tractor like.
