Hey all

A little premature as I don't actually have a Scooby yet but saving the pennies and in 8 months I will be able to buy one using my hard earned cash.

The trouble is I keep getting swayed by the Skyline which is about the same price as the Scoob I want.

I'm saving up to £10k with the hope that I can get a nice stock low mileage hawk eye (2007 ish) WRX STI, pay the insurance outright and the tax for the year, but I keep looking at the Skyline R33 GTR.

The Skyline is a much older car though and the idea with the Scoob was it would be practical as well as mental! I dont think the Skyline is practical.

Anyway, just thought I'd say Hi - got lots of reading to do before I go and pick one (and about 8 months of saving left)

I have an R33 GTR and a classic STI Impreza. Two completely different cars to be honest.

GTR is alot smoother and obviously heavier and more at home on the big A roads. These cars can be very intimidating to someone who is new to a quick RWD car and can get a driver "into problems" alot faster than a Subaru will!

As for the Subaru - great noise, handling, acceleration and excellent on the B roads.

Both good cars, enjoy whichever you decide.

Cheers guys for the welcome

lol@scoobysteve

Had a MR2 turbo a year or so ago and I'm not sure anything rwd can match the potential for death than that did. I was considering the R34 until I saw the price difference between that and the R33 (GTR VSPEC)

Think I'm going to go for the Scooby you've sold it to me James - want something good in all weather.

Now I gotta decide over the Hawkeye or the 04/05 model (STI)

cheers

The Subaru definately better for everyday driving.

Besides....think I would need a bank loan for the fuel cost alone to use my Skyline everyday!!

I saw one today and realised I'd need a drive the length of an aircraft carrier to park it!
