Default Spec C Injectors and Fuel Pump - max BHP?

At what point do you need to change the injectors and fuel pump on a 2006 Spec C?

I know many people change them when they go above 380 bhp, but surely 565cc injectors are good for well over 400-450 horsepower, so why change them?

I understand the Spec C is fitted with an uprated fuel pump as standard, does this need upgrading or can it be left as is?

I previously ran near 500bhp on the SPEC C fuel system (on my previous SPEC C)... I wouldn't suggest you ran this in reality. For the price of a new Walbro it's worth changing imo.

You won't get 400-450bhp out of standard injectors at standard fuel pressure.

565cc injectors are not good for above 400bhp,maybe yes if you can add aftermarket FPR,but those injectors will run with high IDC(Injector Duty Cycle)

Your current fuel pump should be enough for 450bhp,but you will need at least 650cc to be safe at 450bhp region

Thanks for the replies, so injectors need changing, fuel pump should be fine.

Shaun, when you say "standard fuel system" you mean the pump right? I assume you changed the injectors at some point?!

If your using the Spec C fuel pump at higher power levels it might be an idea to run a Fuel Pressure regulator e.g a Sard one which is pretty cheap.

The Walbro costs 80 odd quid, just change it.

First went to 800cc's and then changed to 1150cc's.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Clear that my turbo upgrade budget will need to include injectors and a new fuel pump.

Clarify which turbo you're thinking of now?

It will be either the LM400 billet or the LM450 billet.

I know the LM400 will suit my current set up (with the TMIC and standard intake system). But I'm tempted to try the LM450 with an uprated induction kit running through the standard TMIC.

Would not go walboro would go straight for the rcm drop in tank item

Also the lm450 with standard top mount you will get heat soak stay with the 400 and top mount on meth 420bhp will be perfect.

Then again, I have a 12L intercooler water spray in the boot with the auto function.

Might as well put it to use...

What do you mean...... that won't suddenly make your TMIC efficient enough to handle the heat a LM450 will make.
