Insurance/Wagon & Scooby Help!
In need of some help here people!
Would the Wagon be cheaper to insure than the saloon, I know this may sound a bit mad but normally estates are cheaper to insure.
Also....I typed into Google 'Cheap car insurance' and it gave me a link to a comparison site. I put a 98 Scooby Wagon's number plate in there and the cheapest I got was £1,098 Surely they cant be that expensive to insure? I am 38, driving for 21 years, full no claims, no points and no convictions....Also the car will be garaged at night and will do 4k per year. Any ideas to this or is this normal for Scoobys?!

Try Keith Michaels Insurance but be sure to speak to Gary Moulson and no one else.. I am insured with them with my 'oo Wagon and pay just under £500 per year. My Wagon has PPP on as well
I think Gary is a member on here too but don't know his username but i am sure some other members can point you in the right direction

This is really strange.
Just put all my details into Aviva website......
So.... 38 years old, driving 21 years, full no claims, no convictions, no points, car to be kept in my home garage overnight, driving it less than 8k per year.....I put in a 98 UK Scoob 2000 Turbo. My quote came back at £1,462 per year.....Ouch!

lol James!
I live just outside of Milton Keynes in a small town. Very posh round here thus me renting my house! It must be the area, maybe due to a Milton Keynes postcode?!

Is this your first performance car? I found that you pay more in the first year unless you have at least one years experience in a awd turbo car. Mine came down by a 1/3 in the second year as the specialist's are willing to insure you once you've proved yourself assuming everything else is fine of course.

Its not Topman, I have had a few performance cars. Just thought I would see what a BMW E36 M3 would come out at.......£672. These must be in the same insurance group as the Scooby's?

Have you had your experience in the last year? If the answer is yes then ring one of the specialists on here as mentioned earlier for your best price , keith michaels - gary moulson, sky insurance , greenlight , aplan their contact details are in the insurance section of the fourms. comparison sites are not where you get the best price for impreza insurance.

Insurance groups don't necessarily give the best indicator as to what your insurance would be. Back in the day i was paying £800 on a £26k grp 20 Lotus, at the time i was also quoted over £1k to insure a grp 17 Impreza valued at £18k. When i asked why, it came down to the theft risk of the Scoob. No one is ever gonna steel an Elise to do a ram raid but a Scoob is the perfect getaway car

This is getting more strange!
Called Aviva earlier and told the chap everything, driving 21 years, Advance driving qualification, full no claims, no convictions, car will do around 4-6k per year, a UK Scoob etc etc......He came back with £1,298, he said that was the best he could do. I asked about my postcode, he said it was coming up as one of the safest in the UK.......Really cant understand how I am paying £17.12p per month for my 155BHP 55 Plate Mondeo ST and how I will be paying over £100 a month for a 1997 220BHP Scooby?

Is it your first TURBO car? I found this when i was insuring my UK Turbo 2000 Wagon for the 1st year, nobody would touch me without previously owning a Turbo motor, plus they are a slightly higher theft risk than your Mondy ST!
I finally ended up paying through the nose with Right Choice who were the cheapest for me.
Im 37 with full NCB by the way.

my scooby costs £740, my v reg vectra estate 1.8 poverty spec with wind up windows costs £750 (the car only cost me £350 FFS)
try moving your NCB to the scooby and see if they work out cheaper, or get a multi car policy
