Big Brake Conversion - Recommendations

Big Brake Conversion - Recommendations
I've been thinking about upgrading the front brakes on my 03 STi to something bigger. Many to choose from with huge differences in prices
K sports seem affordable & I have heard good/bad reviews about them. Plus they also come in 8 pots. First hand experiences please show your self..
Then everyone keeps on going on about AP's & how the AP 6 pots do a way better job compared to the 8 pot K sports?
I have never done a big brake conversion so dont know what to go for. Any advice would be appreciated.
Currently running PF pads & discs. It would be nice to have huge stoppers such as 8 pots, however if something smaller & better can do the job, then I dont mind holding out.

The Porsche brake conversion above is pretty much the pinical of affordable brake upgrades on a impreza. But they are super expensive and as I've found out this week the pads are a bloody nightmare to get and again, crazy money.
The AP's are a very good buy, fantastic brakes and can be had at reasonable money.
Don't be drawn in by the 8 pots or even 12 pots, neither are as good as AP's or the Porsche setup regardless of what you hear.

toally love the porsche set up - agree its probably the pinnacle. ap's considered one of the best also.
ive ran ap's, k-sport and now compbrake set up. the carbon effect calipers from compbrake are honestly the best looking ive seen - and at 356mm offer great performance.
that said ive never ran any on track with extreme testing of the brakes - there will be those that have done though and there probably the best youll get as a comparison between set ups.
my current set up bites hard and does the job very well - but how it would do on track with continual hard use i couldnt say.
saying all that the porsches set up, just has pedigree that i wouldnt expect to be surpassed. whether thats fact or not ill leave to those with experience in hard use of differing set-ups.

AP and Brembo are the same company now.
AP has a massive pad choice, racing pedigree and are used by race teams all over the world.
AP have been the aftermarket brake setup of choice for years on road and track cars. They stop the fastest cars in the world including the Bugatti Veyron.
I'm sure the Ksports do a great job, as do the Porsche/ Brembo set ups.
But what about serviceability. Pad choice? Replacement discs/pads etc?
You won't find a single AP owner saying they wish they got Ksports etc.
Buy once, buy right imo

Ap ksport wilwood d2 are in the same league.
next step is porsche /brembo bbk, alcon monoblock.
And still are s h i te compare to ceramic brakes - Audi S8 etc.
Goodspeed sell ap's how could he say 8pot are good than
Ive got 8pot's and found 10m difference compare to wrx 4pot's
Good pads and any above would do a job.
We should do test on hot brakes few cars with different set ups, the same speed and stop and im sure ap fans will shut up forever.

the same company but not the same calipers
bugatti has monoblock (not sure probably ceramic) the same like nissan gtr i mean monoblock
brembo design not ap crap
the same in other way - why pay 600 more for the same stopping power? better buy set of good tyres

In my opinion the AP 6 pots are a better performing caliper than the K sport 8 pots , its a marketing ploy that most fall for thinking that more pistons will mean better braking , it won't.
