Its a 2001 WRX bug eye 95k on the clock and is completely standard. Nothing special but spotless inside and pretty tidy outside. I'm only asking £1600

£1600 seems OK - but, it is too close to the price of the preferred Classic ... the bugeye is the very least desirable of all the Impreza's I'm afriad.
But, that said, £1600 is pocket money - has it had the full big service? 2nd Cambelt? FSH?

Its got pretty good SH but yeah it could do with another cam belt change. I bought it specifically due to the fact that its the least desirable as I've never liked imprezas but it seemed to have a good mix of practicality and poke compared to the other cars i was looking at. That said its still bloody slow.

I've had it up on autotrader, pistonheads, ebay. Pretty much no interest at all. I've bought and sold a lot of cars, usually through forums and owners clubs and have never had this sort of lack of response... shame but I have had an offer of 1500 so I guess i'll have to let it go for that.
It's a bloody lot of car for 1500 quid. If i hadn't just upped my daily commute by 180 miles i'd have kept it.... Crying like a baby

Tips to sell on eBay..
Put stupidly big scoop on bonnet.
Stick imitation roof vent on.
Put garishly coloured stickers on.
Paint wheels in a bright green.
Fit loud exhaust.
Paint brake calipers bright red.
Tell porkies about the BHP.
But, the most important mod is to put a Monster sticker on the back windscreen.
You will get a long queue of people willing to part with their readies for the fastest bugeye on the road.
Hope this helps.

As nick said a bug wrx for £1600 I would be asking myself what was wrong with it.
I havent seen your ad but give it a good clean and take plenty of quality photos to make it stand out from the rest.
Have you advertised it on here ?

You started off by asking for opinions, without giving any detail at all and then go on to call people bellends. Nice one.
as mentioned, £1600 for that is cheap as chips!
I'd go so far as to say that I could sell that within 4 weeks, even with the way the market has gone.

Lets be honest, who wants a standard bug wrx with nearly 100K on the clock and in need of a cambelt service.
It's just not a very desirable car which means it will take a while to sell, £1600 seems about right but you've just got to sit on it.
What colour is it as that as a huge effect on desirability. If its red or green then that makes a hard sell almost impossible.
But, if someone's offered you £1500 then take that before he/she changes his/her mind.

There's no problem with posting crazy ebay ads, but someone could still buy the related auto-turd. Don't see the diference really but I get ya

Having just sold my 1994 WRX for £1600 I think possibly I could help.
Start the auction at 1p, set reserve at what you want.
Don't mention "quick sale" In fact state your just seeing what you could get.
List everything that's wrong with it, everything you'd recommend doing.
List positives and negatives of ownership.
Then state you could end the auction early if the right offer came in. Stupid offers will be ignored. Find similar cars on PH etc and put a link to their car, for example....
£2989 - http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/c...-uk-car/351075
(Not sure if its the same car)
Hopefully people will then see £1600 as a bargain.

A bugeye with nearly 100K on it needing a cambelt is never going to be a hot ticket especially in this climate. Like Matty says if you have been offered £1500 snap their hand off and call it quits. I have a 2001 classic with roughly half the miles which is pretty much iimaculate for the year and I don't think I would see more than £2K for it now. No one wants thirsty 10 year old performance cars that cost an arm and a leg comparitively to keep on the road.
