Obd2 elm327 & odb2 spy
Prob won't get a reply here but here goes....
Bought a obd2 elm327 bluetooth interface and have purchesed subscription to obd2 spy software.. Now I have pretty much no knowledge of this area I'm sure the mappers will advise best, but was just looking for software to show me what the car is doing via computer, problem is it just keeps saying no protocal.
I've been reading and it seems there are some dodge elm327's about
I'm sooo lost and would really like to get this up and running any1 with any info it would be great if u could help me out
Ps ... Running a Apexi pfc if that makes a diffrence.

Really ?? The obd 2 port is on the car just below the knee cap on the driver side obviously the obd 2 port isn't on the ecu..
As I said in my 1st post I'm new to this area of the car so cannot comment to much ie ( Ssm)
I'm sure there must be away of looking at what the car is doing on the cheap side .. I don't particularly what to be able to change things just be able to see what is happening that's why I bought the obd2 spy as this would be ideal.
Jt I'm not having a dig at u but there has to b away around this and until I get confirmation from a mapper I prob won't be happy

Yes, you've missed the point. OBD-II is connected to the ecu...which in your case is NOT the OEM ecu...and in your case your ecu does not support OBD-II.
SSM (Subaru Select Monitor) is a protocol that is specific to Subaru ecus, whereas OBD-II is generic. You have neither.
If you Google you will find that the usual recommendation is to re-fit the OEM ecu in order to detect faults and then read them. I Googled on your behalf and found that the Datalogit software might do the job for you.

I've looked at the datalogit package and it's over $330 delivered I no I have the aftermarket ecu but surely there must be another alternative..
Thanks again

Just to be pedantic and to correct myself...OBD-II is the protocol used to deliver diagnostic information...it is the electrical data interface that is connected to the ECU. It's a moot point, as the Apexi does not support OBD-II.
I will be delighted for you if there is a product out there that will do what you want, but I am 99% sure there is not. I have been asked by several mappers if I could adapt our Toucan product to work with Apexi, but there are not enough hours in the day to do everything that's wished for!
Thank u for taking the time to look up for what might be suitable but if I'm honest the elm 327 interface cost me £20 and the software cost me $29, I'm not looking at mapping the car as that is to involved for me lol, just after the basics.
