Default turbo inlet pipe ports

hi there i have an 07 hawkeye with a standard turbo inlet pipe. at the end closest to the turbo there is a breather port i think it is. what is it for and do i need it?

Im rebuilding the engine and got the intake manifold on and now fitting the inlet pipe but this breather pipe is making it difficult to squeeze the intake pipe under the manifold. Im going to fit an oil catch tank so dont mind removing it to help it fit but just want to know what it does. many thanks morgan

its where the dump valve recirculates back into the intake unless you have vent to atmosphere youll probably need to keep this

sorry its not the big dump valve one, its the small one on top. sticks up about a couple of cm then has a 90 on it where the pipe connects.
