I have a knocking noise coming from the front right side(when standing at thr front) of my engine.seems to be under a plastic case.this is the first time iv been under the hood of a car with boxer engine.
I have a impreza wrx sti type uk 2.0L
Anyone had this before or know what it could be before i investigate?

A vid is probably your best bet and post it up, but is the noise always there? Does it change with the revs ro does it go away?
How long have you owned the car for??
I would also suggest going on youtube and searching for subaru engine knock or big end bearing knocking to see if it sounds the same, worse case scenario though, lets hope its not that.

You should have the car checked over by someone who knows what they are doing, I would also avoid driving it and have a recovery truck take it to a garage to avoid damage.

Now that sounds nasty....
Goes to show that messing about in the snow can very often end in tears..
