Default Best GC8 tuners in the UK

I want to call a few tuners next week for some quotes, this is possibly going to open a can of worms but who would you recommend?

I'm going to be spending allot of money so I want to get it done right, as i'm going to build up a Type R for the Impreza class in the MLR sprint series.

I've heard of Andy Forrest and RCM but I was wondering who else there was?

RCM or ZEN performance.

Put both names in a hat, pick one and send your car there. End of :-)

Long list of tuners, rcm if money is not object but for me API gets my vote. Not knocking any others but David is a top guy and his team are imo one of the best.

Please do the best thing, call and visit each tuner and you will get a feeling who is the right one for you, it's you hard cash you are spending so need to feel comfortable and trust who you use, doesn't matter what we all think.

Out of curiosity have you got a car already and what's the budget and what is your end goal ie performance wise

I can't believe I forgot about API, they did allot of work to my old Type RA many years ago.

I just bought myself a type r which i'm collecting next Saturday, budget is 15k, end goal is circa 1100kg weight and 450 whp.

No question, RCM, but you need a big budget. Engine tuner are a close second & API & ScoobyClinic can also deliver the goods.

Then there is your answer as rcm are now out of the questions lol, API are up there with the best! And as you have previous then you have a working relationship. ok well did you get many mods on the type r as 15k will soon be swallowed up if it's in standard trim. As a third of that could go on suspension, brakes and chassis mods to cope with 450bhp.

I'm still going to call Zen and Engine Tuner but yes, David is a great guy!

The reason why I bought it was due to the fact it's got brembos from the later STi and Nitron suspension.

why go to RCM and pay double what any other tuners are gonna charge ya for fitting the same parts?
There's plenty of companies on here that know just as much as RCM and are half the price.

Brand snobbery perhaps?

If your building a car for the sprint series then it might be worth talking to those who compete, build and run cars in the series....

Paul maps most of the subaru entries.

Lateral is a main supplier of parts.

Steven sd motorsport has a huge input in everything subaru in the series.

Chevron motorsport have input in suspension, geo etc on many cars.

The people who compete would probably be the best source of knowledge on what will work and what you don't need to do....

positve feedback of a tuner company is always a good indicator of the quality of work done for members on here, just do a quick thread search on this site to find out about customer satisfaction of work done by said companys.

THAT sums up the scene.

Dave Y ...... We are all to assume you have been asked to post that comment.
To suggest such things (baring in mind Lennard's intensions) is total stupidity.
