Strange noise and boost fluctuation when over 4000 rpm on uk2000 classic

Default Strange noise and boost fluctuation when over 4000 rpm on uk2000 classic

As title im stuck the car fluctuates boost and has an almost metalic sound when under load in boost, ive changed the turbo as thats what i thought it was but no change ..

Im new to the scoobys so i need help big time !!

I'm getting strange noises from my turbo too, does yours sound like this?

Hi,

what fuel are you using ?. the boost fluctuation could be the result of the ecu pulling timing, the metallic noise could be det or "pinking" as we used to call it, all this can be caused by poor quality fuel you need Shell "V" power or tescos 99 octane, nothing else is good enough for these cars.
