Motorway or main road?
What limit?

It all makes a difference to the outcome.

You can only go to court and beg forgivenness now, tell them you know what an idiot you are, etc, tell them you've since researched accidents and realise, etc etc.

When you say you were clocked yesterday what was it? Copper? Cameravan? And how come you got the ticket straight away? Normally takes time for the courts to issue a summons, don't just happen over night

The copper was in a unmarked silver BMW he caught me on his hand held gun... He gave me a intended notice of prosecution slip because the offence was to bad to issue a fixed penalty notice

I always thought doing 100mph or more was an instant ban

100 and over is an instant ban, 30 days or more, unless you can prove you need the car for your livelihood, then it's up to the courts descretion, a lot of grovelling is needed.

think he should be ok, as said grovell and i think you are allowed 3%
discrepancy on outcome but if 101 mph or double the speed limit its an instant ban.

You'll lose your license for that, gaurenteed. Minimum 28 days but may well be longer.
A pal was caught doing 101 on the motorway, he got 28 days even though he had letter from boss saying he needed his car for work.
It's up to the courts but I wouldn't hold your breath in keeping your license.

If speedometers typically over read by 7-10% and he was clocked at 100mph, the speedo must have been reading around 107-110?

Are we talking a two laned dual carriage way with permanent central reservation? 40, 60 or 70mph limit?

You were speeding, got caught, take the punishment.

(Three points to come off my license in December for a TS10).

100 is not always a ban I can assure you

And hand held guns you can argue black and blue with, I should know as I have and I won in court against them, bit hard really for them to make it stick when you can demonstrate a hand held camera to show a wall doing 30mph, now that is impressive!

You wanna try the M1 out during rush hour - unless you are prepared to do towards 100mph then you will be a rolling roadblock if you're in the outside lane!

If they show the calibration certificate for the gun, to prove when it was done, he won't have a leg to stand on.

I like the way a few are giving you a hard time for speeding ? I for one speed all the time where safe to do so in any vehicle, and most other motorists who are on the road with me are doing the same speed or more ? Most people speed especially high performance car owners ,otherwise why have a fast car? I didn't buy mine to drive miss daisy around !
As said previously just beg forgiveness and don't bullsh*t in court as they've heard it all before and will hit you harder whereas if your remorseful they might be more lenient? Good luck and unlucky.
