gt35r owners - hitting limiter in 1st gear
Just want other peoples opinion. Basically I have been hitting the limiter in 1st gear pretty often. In 1st gear I make 1.7-1.8b.
Its a bit crazy trying to change up with wheel spin/torque steer.
Anyone else hitting the limiter, any disadvantages?

Yeah mate i`ve also noticed the car will hit the limiter very quickly if i dont change up quick enough,same in second and third gears tbh if i keep the hammer down a liitle too long.
Mainly due to the colder temps of a late i reckon cos in the warmer months i wouldnt bounce off the limiter unless i really meant too,dont think it will cause any major harm unless your drivng on the limiter every day so i wouldnt worry over it too much.

True say, the other day I hit the limiter in 3rd just before i changed up to 4th. it was super cold & peak boost was a bit over 2.0bar.
In the summer as you've mentioned I never touched the limiter at all.

this is the problem with high power turbo engines, they are a bit like old two stroke bikes they ran up to 8000 rpm but the last rgv500's had 200 bhp between, 7000 and 7,800 rpm, they had virtually nothing before or after that, made them murder to drive but they only wieghed about 100 kgs...
a turbo'd engine with mega powerat the top end, like the two strokes makes for a difficult drive...this is why you really need a supercharger and a turbo to give you low end torque and top end boost, by doing this you could raise the diff gearing and reduce wheel spin, go quicker of the line with more torque, would reduce the rate at which you hit the limiter and problem solved...
however of course then the torque would blow your box and or your diffs but hey ho...with each change comes another problem
