Default Camskill.....bit of a moan.....

Hmm, placed an order on Tuesday evening for 4 Continentals for my other car..VW Passat TDi Highline. 205 / 60 / R15 (don't laugh!!)

Anyways, placed the order fine, and received an email thanking me for placing the order.

Only to receive an email Wednesday morning to say they are out of stock of the particular tyres and would I like to choose something else or cancel my order.

To be fair, my online bank statement doesn't show them taking the money, but Camskill shouldn't have let me order them if they were out of stock.

I emailed back asking when they think the tyres will be back in stock.

Rant over.

The amount of stuff they shift, they could have sold out AS you ordered.

I know, they are very popular and great prices etc. My 4 Toyos came through with no problems a few months back.

Normally they are spot on. They must be having a off day.

Everytime I order from them it's on my doorstep the next day

Never had an issue with buying from Camskill. As Jeff says, bet they sold out as you ordered or within a very small timeframe before.

I have had a good experience with them too.
So just a bit of bad luck on your part by the looks of things.
Not par for the course

Scott lives round the corner from me and has always been spot on but then he would having known him from the early days when he used to lug tyres around in an old van for local rally events to make a bob or two he has come a long way from those days as has been said he/they must of had an off day which is very very rare.

Same thing happened to me when I ordered a set of Toyos. I had to go elsewhere for them & although I was a bit annoyed at the time as I didn't find out for a few days, I would order from them again as they did appologise & offer an alternative. These things can always happen with mail-order, it's a risk you take but the cost savings make it worthwhile. Incidentally I ended up paying a lot more for Toyos elsewhere.

Ive used Camskill a number of times but I guess this is the risk you take when ordering over the internet.

Thats the way it works with internet shopping. If its that important, phone them up or go to a physical shop to buy your tyres.

24 posts in here about Camskil - I can only see one negative. Looks to me like Camskill have got it right.

If anyone working for Camskill is reading this just relax guys, you're doing a good job in a world full of cowboys and rip-off merchants.

I'll continue to use you whenever possible.

I'm going for these ones now, good reviews (only 4 reviews I know) but if they turn out good, I could be persuaded to get Vredesteins on the Scoob next time round.

You can buy from a lot worse than Camskill. These guys are highly rated on other forums especially MLR.There brakes are really really good for the money.

I've used them but normally find a local tyre specialist can come in very close to their prices, if not match them.

I have to agree. I used Camskill for tyres not on recommendation but on price as they were cheaper than anyone. I found their customer service exceptional. Knowledgeable staff, cheap prices and great customer care. This is a pointless thread and an unneccesary whinge in my opinion. The OP got an apology and an offer of an alternative immediately, what more do you want?!
