Default Buying My 1st scooby

Just selling my 284 BHP 340lbs astra coupe turbo and going to buy my 1st scooby, i work for vauxhall so working with them does not make me like mine like i used to lol i have around 4k to spend and would like an WRX STI as i told it the quicker model,

i have taking a liking to this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-Subar...item43b626bec2

But prices seem to be all over the place on ebay. Is there big diffence between the wrx and the wrx sti?

I am told imprezza are pretty bullet proof but are there major problems to look out for?

Cheers

The one you're looking at is only a WRX mate.

And yes, there is a huge difference between the two.

with that budget you can pick up a nice wrx! but the sti is the quicker of the 2, im not sure if its a noticeable difference, as long as there serviced regularly they are reliable

with a budget of 4k you might be able to pick up a bug sti but that will have high millage on it!

If you're looking at cars from 2000 - 2002 (known as the 'Bug - Eye' because of the headlamp shape), beware rust underneath, especially at the front. The plastics cover it very well, so look hard.

I picked up a STI Bug this year with 60k 3 owners, mint inside and out and with full service history, needed another box just for the paper work.
All for 5k.

In your position this is probably the route I'd go down if I wanted an STI. A decent classic can be had for that money. You need to start looking upwards of 5-6k for a newage STI.
