I'd send it back unless he's having it rebored & even then if it's deep it may still be no good. Must be from a failed engine & the supplier must know about it.
Coolant ingress on No.4 cylinder causing it to corrode ? Carbon on the lower part of piston crown seems to be washed away and lower right head bolt must have been rusty as hell.
Rebore seems the only way to clean that up.
