Default should i worry??? possible scam

will keep this short and sweet

i brought an item off a member on here for £££,i paid via paypal on the 25th november

so far ive been told 2 reasons why it hasnt been posted

ive had no contact from the seller since thursday and still no item

should i start to worry?

how long have i got to claim my money back from paypal and how do i do it?

i need to know to cover my own back

sorry to you (the seller) if you read this and you are genuine then please get in touch with me to let me know whats going on? im a fair guy and i know things come up which are more important/or mean you cannot get to post items you have sold but i think i should have more contact from you if you can

im not gonna name and shame anybody yet as its still early days but i am getting worried

cheers-matt

how did you pay for the item?

If it was sent via gift then you have no chance of getting it back as paypal won't refund for those transactions.

just open a dispute in paypal. they will refund your money. never pay as gift ever or bank transfer.

think you have 30+days with PP when a "Goods" type transaction

however, its only 5days and all sorts of things happen with peoples lives so personally i wouldn't pull the cord just yet and just monitor what happens
if it got to 14+days and nothing then i would potentially be starting to consider a e-claim or whatever for non arrival/non contact

depends. they make you give time for the seller to respond etc.
but as the post above says its only been 5 days so give the guy time.

you have 30 days to place a dispute.

as above, 5 days isnt over long..ive had letters sent 30 miles away thats took longer...if nothing withing 10 days then id launch a paypal dispute, if the seller doesnt respong then they automatically go in your favour and a refund is issued...but if he says its been posted blah blah blah u could be waiting weeks..have fun

Oh no don't trust addi, he's a right dodgy burger.

At least he's easy to find though, he's at the blue oyster bar every night.

Yes if you lot of bum boys would stop taking drugs and abusing farm animals we would not need to keep busting your local looking for you

I opened a dispute through Paypal over an item that arrived but not as described, I tried to reason with the seller but he was not budging.

It's the first time I have gone down this route but found it relatively easy. I did make sure I worded my complaint well & stressed the main issue ie. Item had been used yet advertised as unopened, unused etc.

They do take their time up to 30 days in fact but I won the case thankfully, however I have not received the cost of returning the item (£11) to the seller but received all other funds.

Hope this helps

That doesn't sound as dodgy as a non paid up member, strange as it seems but scammers don't like to pay to advertise even though they make loads of money scamming people £2 a month is too much for them so my bet is you should be ok and they are just slow sending stuff. If you're unhappy use the feedback system but leave it longer than 5 days, I usually get stuff delivered to sellers within 2 day but that's just me!

Open up a dispute forthwith. If he's been online there is no excuse for not contacting you, a little communication goes a long way.

Irrespective of what goes on in personal lives it takes seconds to send a message. You're not being harsh at all.
