Hi, good evening, I wanted to share my story in this post so that other people do not fall for the same seller scam.It all started on the night of November 26th 2012 at 01: 02: 20 Spanish time. I sent an e-mail to the user of this forum with the user ID “andyj775” for a few Tein Mono Flex suspensions. It was a lie; they were Tein Control Master Type Flex suspensions (first lie). In the e-mail I asked how much the suspensions would cost me and he said £695 with the EDFC controller. Up until then, all fine. Then I asked him if it was possible to send to Spain and if the suspensions were rusty. The answer was yes; it was possible to send to Spain and that the suspensions were in good condition, only the docks would need cleaning. So I trusted this person and I told him that I wanted them but that I didn't want the EDFC controller. I then asked him to pass me his PayPal details in order to to make the payment of £450 for the suspensions and thus made the payment.
The truth is I was silly to trust this person and to pay him because I was completely mistaken. A few days later I received my package via DHL and the truth is that I was happy as I could already mount the suspensions on my Subaru. However, my surprise on opening the box and unpacking the plastics which wrapped the suspensions was horrible... The suspensions were very rusty, they had mold from the moisture, the upper rear mounts were fractured by cracks and one was even broken, a front spring was filled with dirt (at least it could have been cleaned)... Then I started to think and reconsider about whether or not I could get my money back, so then today I sent a private message to this user “andyj775” telling him politely and with respect that he has sold me something in very bad condition and that he had lied to me and that everything is completely ****. He then answers me saying that he is confused because he used them perfectly and that he is surprised, that maybe the box caused damage, and I answered him by saying that the box was in good condition and was packaged well. I ask myself how it is possible to break a front suspension spring from a blow from a box. It is pure steel! Then surely there would be a piece of the spring missing inside the box, right? Well, there was no nothing, please, what lies, how is it going to break both of the upper rear mounts?! As well as the rust on the suspension bottles...
I decided to talk to him amicably through PayPal so that he could return my money and I would return the suspensions properly and in good faith, he then sends me a message that says not call him a liar and at no time had he told me what condition the suspensions were in, and he makes a counter claim, which results in PayPal closing the case saying that they don’t have responsibility for the condition of the material, they only take care of the shipments... and I can't do anything FACEPALM, so I'll have to live with this rusty iron thanks to this SCAMMER and by all means and I still cannot recover my money... So, people in this forum, go carefully with this individual who scams people and lies; in this post I attach photos of the suspensions so you can see the state of them. I hope you forgive this long post but I feel frustrated and deceived and I write this so that nothing like this happens to anyone else... Thanks for reading.

If you paid by paypal "correctly" you can claim your money back - if you sent it to him as a "gift/pocket money/etc" then you are now relying on the honesty of the seller to reimburse you.
I live in France and had a similar experience recently with someone for a part for another car - a quick visit to the UK to see my cousins and we all popped in to see the chap .... ended in a very quick solution and all my money back - funny how people change their stand point when you meet them face to face.
To be fair though you really should've got photos of everything prior to paying any money so you could verify the state as people's opinions differ enormously on the concept of "good condition" etc.
Hope the fellow Scooby owner is honest and wants to solve this quickly.

The rust can be forgiven , it doesnt take long for it to go like that. The breaks and cracks however would be something i would consider mentioning if i was asked if they were in "good condition", i mean what wold be poor condition then !
Personally , if i was sending it to spain , and i had ANY doudt that the buyer may not be happy , i would be sending pics and a detailed description. Wether it was a gift of not , i would still refund , but then i. have a concience (is that spelt right ?)

Agree about the rust being forgivable because it really does not take long for them to go like that, my whiteline rear roll bar rusted in a year and the car spent most of that year in the garage, easy enough to clean them up, just time and elbow grease.
But those top mounts were obviously fooked, even stevie wonder could work that out.
And it's obvious he was trying it on by his wording in the email "useable condition"![Freak3](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/freak3.gif)
Some people just take the royal pee.
I doubt he will be on to defend himself, after all how could he, mind you that said the brass neck of some never ceases to amaze me.
For £450 i'd be on a plane with them in a suitcase and stick them where the sun don't shine, just as a matter of principal.

So did you pay via a gift on PayPal as it doesn't really say? If you didn't and added the fees on top, just tell PayPal they are not as described they always find in the buyers favour once a dispute is raised.

Terrible. Seller should come clean. Hope you get it sorted. This is why when I send something I take pictures of it's condition, the packaging prior to posting.

In the OP's case it's clear that he hadn't seen any "condition" photos and was mislead by the sellers "false" description - if he comes on and reimburses then it can be put down to a genuine misunderstanding, failure to do so and it's obvious that he's a scammer - up to him now.
