recently bought a uk turbo and the guy i bought it off has only just said that its been mapped to run on super unleaded but iv put normal unleaded in it twice now. is this ok to carry on with normal unleaded? seems to run fine with it in.
I'd stick to either Shell V-Power, or Tesco Momentum.
Easso Super at a pinch.
If you MUST use 95 octane stuff, stay off boost.
IF it's been mapped for higher octane fuel, using lower octane stuff WILL result in "det" (knock), and that is the one thing that can be relied on to damge your engine very quickly.
Mine hasnt even been mapped but for the last year its always had tesco momenteum. Subarus aint for the faint hearted mate. Dont cut corners and you should have a good run. As already stated try not to use normal petrol as it ends up as det which normally leads to bye bye engine
Sorry that doesnt make sense. Ecutek are a software company. And thay im aware of they dont do daughterboards although esl do.
Who actually did the mapping of the daughterboard?
all im passing on is what the guy told me im new to all this so havnt got a clue.im taking it to my local tunning specialists after xmas as iv recently spoke with him so hes going to check whats been done and what hasnt.
