Get yourself a set of Osram Nightbreaker Plus. These bulbs are phenomenal and actually replicate xenon's very well, without impersonating them as many cheap bulbs do.

Xenons were fitted already to three of the four Scoobies I've owned so never noticed much of a problem
But +1 to the Osrams, I put them on my Clio Cup as the bulbs on that were bloody awful and would probably be put to shame by many a pen torch...

My HIDs caught fire, as they were hi'lo switching ones, and the hi low switch controller caught fire. So they got thrown out and Halfords Rally bulbs have gone in, and they are great.

These are rated highly: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-Xenon-U.../dp/B00603PCQS
I'd avoid LED bulbs, I reckon they are more to be seen, than see by.
The positioning of the LEDs means the beam pattern will be all over the place

Ive tried rally bulbs (130/90w)no mot or blinding on coming traffic issues, they were nice and bright to start with, then they started to get dull and eventually the connections caught fire, anyone thinking of fitting rally bulbs should fit relays to prevent melting connectors and wiring looms.

Got mine of eBay from well know seller and the difference is like day and night!!!
For standard figment you will not get better, same power usage as standard and 90% brighter!
