upgrade time:-) i need?
hi all, got wrx bugeye. Also got bug to upgrade. Its a 2nd car. After looking around i think for basic upgrade i need sti up pipe, any downpipe, panel filter k and n or equivalent, 255 walbro and a os remap.
Questions are, do i deffo need a fuel pump for this upgrade? Also im unfamiliar with the exhaust system, does it go un equal manifold, upipe, turbo, downpipe, small catted pipe, centre section, back box? Or unequal manifold, catted pipe,up pipe, turbo, downpipe, centre pipe back box.?
I already have miltek centre pipe and back box.
Ive also seen advertised 3 inch bellmouth to 2.5 inch downpipe or 2.5 to 2.5, which is one i need? My wrx is standard.
Thanks for advice and if anyone has any of these parts let me know. :-)

As it is a bug the pump is 10 years old deffo change the pump. How much you want to spend is the main thing as you have miltek parts already see if they do a downpipe with cat or not to connect to what you have, Tubular headers are probably going too far as the OE headers ported will do a good job.
Look at the handling and brakes aswell as there is great room for improvement with out a mega outlay. Rewplacing the suspension bushes to tighten the handling and get the best out of a geometry setup. Fit goodridge/equivalent hoses, from e-bay the brake stopper that stops movement of the brake master cylinder improves feel.

Regards to limiting factor, i live in built up london and mostly get stuck behind hybrid fusion type vehicles.:-) lol. So 250 to 280 would be fine. Didnt want a classic and cant get newage in wagon form so wrx wagon it is. Wish i dint need estate but do! Carpenter and kids and bikes etc.

TD04 is a cracking real world turbo with great spool, so good around town for the conditions you describe.
260/280bhp is plenty in most situations, i have a blob wagon with ppp at circa 260bhp it's a cracking daily drive with a bit of go for the odd country blast without the really silly speeds and can give cars with a lot more power a good run for their money in the real world.
I sugest as above some handling mods and make sure your brakes are up to spec, good discs and pads are a must, speak to ian at godspeed brakes about you requirements and he will point you in the right direction, a good geo set up is also essential.
