Default Blobeye value??

Hi all,

was hoping to get some feedback on what you guys think this Blobeye is worth.

in short it has a Cat D insurance claim against it but unlike alot of accident reapaired cars i can show the damage and work done.

The damage was only to the front but after my mate pushed his luck to the insurance compaqny to try and get more work done they wrote it off to his suprise.

i purchased the car from him as i know the history and cant believe the true damage would it ever had been a write off. hes a freind from work and this truley was his baby!

The car is really in standard for other than induction kit and dump valve.

the damage (even though it may look bad was minimal) the inner wing could have been straightened out i was told but thought sod that and got a replacement welded and sealed back in.

it has 127000 mile on the clock but i have a £3000 reciept for full engine rebuild about 17'000 miles ago.

the cars engine is strong and good and drives well.

just needs some tlc....i think it would make agreat project or track car.

please let me know what you think or if anyones interested in a purchase!!

its not 100% finished but you get the idea......

I know of a sorted JDM WRX Blob (very rare) with Teins, Bob Rawle map, underbraces, some trick bits with half the mileage that went for £4000.

It was a straight car and no Cat D or anything wrong with it.

Thanks for feedback Paddyhoey.
I dont believe this one has a value close to that.
this does have history, 2 keys, insurance report etc

I dont really need to know what other peoples moded STI's went for as thats not what i want to sell.

I just need to know what this could be roughly worth to a buyer......£1K, £2K etc??

With a Cat D against it, and 127,000miles for a WRX, I'd say the insurance company were right to write it off and an offer of about £3000 less excess would have been right. WRX Blobs are two a penny and worht little now. The Engine is irrelevant as it's not fresh after 17k either. Sorry.

£3k absolute tops, unless it has a forged rebuild by a known engine builder.

At the end of the day no matter how you dress it up, it's a cat d with 127,000 on the clock, so the gearbox etc has covered those miles, regardless of the engine build.

WRX Blobs with half the miles and no cat d are difficult to sell for much more than that.

But you never know, someone might pay a bit more if you hang in there.

GLWS.

Thats it Lads.....Good feedback.

Im a complete realist and am not trying to get every penny possible from this.

As above i think this will make a great project or track car, I dont believe this is a jump in the car and off to your local car show!!

i would hope for £2K+

A car's true value is what someone is willing to pay and you are willing to let it go for

Yes the value is what someone wants to pay that's why I'm being very open and realistic.

Yes.....it seems many people have got hold of cheap blobs.

I got this one as a project but really don't have the time to work on it.

When I was looking at blobs the cheapest I ever found was a black one on eBay that was also a accident repair but UNLIKE this one I can show you the damage and repair process.

Also introduce you to the previous owner etc.

Anyway lets start at £950! Lol

Thanks for the replays........keep views coming

In my opinion it needs the below to make it a good road worthy car, as it stands today.
I can do 99% of the work but im finding it hard to get the time. some of the points below may not need doing but i would as im fussy!!

inner wing and slam panel painting grey as they currently blue/black
splash guard fitting
front bumper and grill fitting
needs fog light covers (have not got these yet)
side skirts re-fitting, was going to put nice silver ones on as it has the black ones!
needs MOT (should pass as it had 11 months mot before the accident)
needs VIC check (£40 at your local vosa station)
needs a good clean inside and out.
covered in yellow circles from insurance company so will need cleaning off.

my freind said it went through a bush before hitting a pole in the hope the insurance would respay the whole car as it was a little tired but because of that little lie they wrote it off!!

your more than welcome to view before its clean just to see the type of things the insurance where claiming for.

there is a scratch on the spoiler that you can hardly see, that was even in the claim.

i think thats it but as i said if i can find the time its not a hard fix at all.

if i do all the work including MOT and vic check i would hope for £2500+

Thanks
