Some people hibernate when the snow comes & some get their ski's, toboggan, sledge or snowboards out & have a blast, get out there & enjoy it while it lasts guys.
i quite enjoy driving in the snow, set the diff to lock and go, just the RE070 with 3mm tread really dont like gripping haha! 4 wheel no drive in some bits of snow :P

RE 070's are deadly in the snow, even with full tread as I found out in 2004 so it's really not advisable to take the car out in snow if you have them fitted
One of the reasons I fit winter tyres in winter is due to the fact that the hills here mean you need grip and stopping power, something summer tyres don't give you!

I really struggle to get the tyre thing across to people. No doubt we will soon have the threads telling us how peope were flying up hils past 2wd cars that were completely stuck and how great their AWD Scoobs are etc. etc. Which unless you have winter tyres fitted is nonsense and people being economical with the truth.
There is a hill up to my house that is about 1 in 4 and in the garage I have my Scoob fitted with Michelin Pilot Sports. On the drive I have a Volvo V40 fited with Vredestein winter tyres. I know which one I will be using to go up and down that hill in the next few days..... and it isn't the Scoob as it would not get up the hill, 4 wheels spinning with no grip isn't any better than 2!!
Had to take it out of it's nice warm underground car park and take it to work - good fun though! Although I am quite nervous driving it as I've not even owned it a week yet haha!
The Winter tyre thing is always fun. I had a friend rub his hand over his dry tyre last night, then over my Pirelli Sottozero. " Ah" he said- "now I get it" His normal tyre felt like hard plastic at -2 whereas mine was all soft and grippy, even stone cold. The Tread is not the reason they sork so well!
