Just been forced off the road by an old git in an H-reg Montego Countryman Estate (equipped with flat-cap and pipe) coming the other way on a country road. I wasn't even going that fast (40-50). Honest Guv.

He was in the middle of the road and I swerved to avoid him (he made no attempt to move)

Front left tyre went into a kerb stone after skidding (I thought these things had ABS) at about 25 mph.

Result:
Wheel - Dinged on rim but not buckled
Tyre - Ripped - also rubbed to buggery on inner wing
Lower suspension arm - snapped at rear mounting
Front wing - bent at the sill where the wheel was forced back
Bumper - small scuff on lower

I'm taking bets how much for a Subaru quote to repair???

(I'm insured with Tesco's and they allow you to go to any repairer and get them to fax a quote - quite impressed)

I'll update this link as I find out the true extent of the damage (inner wing / wheelarch / bumper respray???

:-(((

Check out http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=93255. Tesco authorised it in less than a week with a quote for 1800 quid labour. Dealer was not a Tesco approved one but a highly rated one locally and we should be back on the road in about 3 weeks.

Did they accept responsibility - or will you have to take the hit (excess and claim)?
